Jammin' for the Oldies

We all have the goal of active, healthy aging for ourselves and for the ones we love. Health experts tell us the factors that extend and improve the quality of our lives include exercise for our bodies and brains, socialization and friendship, continued learning, and creative engagement.

Today, seniors living in Topeka are fortunate to have access to the life enhancing programs offered each day at Papan’s Landing Senior Center. Through exercise, nourishing foods and snacks, health related education, crafts and hobbies, games, movie presentations, and outings, our seniors are improving their fitness and health, expressing their creativity, and staying active and engaged.

In today’s economy we are trying to provide more services to more people all the while working with less money. This leaves us trying to raise more money than ever before. On October 13, 2023, we are holding a “Jammin’ for the Oldies” fundraiser. We have reserved The Woodshed who will be running a cash bar, and have a local band (The Who Dat Band) ready to roll. Along with a raffle our fundraiser will have food and a motorcycle show. Our goal is to provide more opportunities for the seniors such as special outings or health classes, and improvements to the Center itself, specifically a commercial refrigerator and freezer.
